What is the Dodge Charger R/T Concept?

The Dodge Charger R/T Concept is a show car designed and built by Daimler-Chrysler Corporation.  The Charger R/T was built to resemble a modern version of the 1968 to 1970 Charger.  If enough positive response is generated by the buying public this concept car can hit the streets as a production car as soon as the 2002 model year.  This is a strong possibility since other concept cars in the past made by the Daimler-Chrysler Corporation like the Dodge Viper and Plymouth Prowler have made it to production.  The Charger if it makes it to production would compete with the likes of the Chevrolet Camaro Z28, Pontiac Trans Am, and Ford Mustang Cobra.  It would be based on the old pony-car formula: rear wheel drive, V8 powered, etc.  Here are just some of the features of the Dodge Charger R/T Concept:

* 4.7 liter V8 (320 horsepower and runs on compressed gas).

* 4 wheel fully independent suspension.

* Pistol Grip manual transmission shifter knob.

* 4 doors (to improve access to the rear seats).

* Fully functional dual exhaust.

For those who want to urge Daimler-Chrysler to produce this awesome automobile, visit the Dodge web page at: http://www.4adodge.com, and send them an email note.
